We love sharing our knowlege by presenting classes and workshops. Here are a few classes that we have available.

In these 2 sessions, will complete a beautiful "stained glass" picture. You will have a choice of 3 pictures. (See in store) 

Date:  Saturdays, Feb. 9 and 16, at 1 - 3 p.m.

Cost: $60 + GST  (Most of supplies are included)

Astrid is experienced and very knowledgeable in all things related to felting. You will gain confidence as you complete two projects in this class....a mouse and a gnome.  See us in store for samples.

Date: Tuesdays, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5, at 10:30 - 12:30 p.m.

OR    Saturdays, Mar. 9 and 16, at 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $55 + GST  (Most of supplies are included)

Date: Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1 - 3 p.m.

Cost: $25 + GST

The techniques in this pattern are unique in that this sweater is knitted in one piece and has very little seaming.  Designed in the 70's by Elizabeth
Zimmerman, this pattern has 27,357 projects posted on Ravelry!  We'll make a 3-12 month size jacket in this class.

Date: Fridays, Mar. 1, 8, 15 and 22, at 10:30 - 12 noon

Cost: $80 + GST

Learn the basics of Tunisian Crochet, with a focus on Tunisian Simple Stitch.  You'll learn some handy shaping techniques while making a striped triangular shawl.  Yarn will be chosen after the first class.

Date: Fridays, Jan. 25, Feb. 1 and 8, at 1 - 3 p.m.

Cost: $65 + GST

If you took the first level Tunisian Crochet from Rebecca, consider this class to increase the potential of Tunisian Crochet by adding standard crochet stitches to your work. The project is an infinity scarf worked on the bias to show of self striping yarns. 

Date: Tuesdays, Mar. 5, 12 and 19, at 6 - 8 p.m.

Cost: $65 + GST

This class is for the person who is curious about weaving. You will learn the basics of weaving; you will prepare and warp a loom and then learn to weave a scarf. We have the Ashford SampleIt loom available to rent if you so desire. Rental cost is $30.00

Date: Saturdays, Jan. 19 and 26, at 10 - 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $80 + GST

This class is for you if you've already taken our Beginner's Weaving class, or if you just want to explore something new in your weaving. We'll explore some of the creative things you can do with a "clasped weft". We'll warp a scarf length and you pick the pattern from the store sample! Bring your rigid heddle or talk to us about renting a SampleIt. Rental loom is available for $30. 

Date: Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10 - 12 noon

Cost:  $40 + GST

Consider taking this class if you've already taken our Beginner's Weaving class.  We'll create a beautiful scarf using a technique called "clasped warp". Bring your rigid heddle or talk to us about renting a SampleIt. Rental loom is available for $30. 

Date:  Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 10 - 12 noon

Cost: $40 + GST

Let’s have some fun with Ashford dyes! We’ll supply everything, including the microwave, the dyes and 2 x 100 gr of beautiful merino yarn. You bring the creativity to dye your yarn.

Date: Saturday, Mar. 2 at 10:30 - 12 noon 

Cost: $65 + GST

In this class you will learn about different types of fiber for spinning.  You will learn how to draft the roving and you will spin some beautiful yarn on a drop spindle.

Date: Saturday,  Feb. 23 at 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Cost: $40.00 + GST

Laura is an experienced spinner with a wealth of fiber knowledge! This class is for you if you have no prior experience with a spinning wheel, or if you have done some spinning and want to take it to the next level.

Date: Saturdays, Mar. 9 and 16, at 10 - 12:30 pm

Cost: $80 + GST

Holding your working yarn in your left hand is very awkward if you normally hold it in your right hand. However, there are some benefits to Continental Knitting; it can be faster and it’s very handy when you are knitting Fair Isle patterns. As well, it’s a good chance to give the tired hand a break!

Date: Fridays, Feb. 1 and 8, at 10:30 - 12 noon

Cost: $45 + GST

Learn the basic techniques of knitting with 2 colours at a time. Alaska is a beautiful hat stranded with 2 colours. Our "Knitting Continental" is a good class to prepare you for this one. 

Date: Fridays, Feb. 15 and 22, at 10:30 - 12 noon

Cost: $45 + GST

This class is designed for the complete beginner with no knitting experience. It will cover knit and purl stitches, a basic cast on, understanding knitting “lingo”, plus much more information for the first time knitter.  This is also an excellent refresher course.

Date: Mondays, Jan. 28, Feb. 4 and 11, at 6 - 7:30 pm

OR    Wednesdays, Mar. 6, 13 and 20, at 10:30 - 12 noon

Cost: $65 + GST

You will learn to knit in the round, a skill so essential for many projects (socks, hats, legwarmers etc). The class project is the Antler Hat with cables.

Date: Mondays, Feb. 25, Mar. 4 and 11, at 6 - 7:30 pm

Cost: $60 + GST

If you have never made a pair of socks, this class is for you! Using a lovely, self patterned, 6-ply yarn, you will learn to knit socks on 4 needles. You will knit in the round, turn the heel, and graft the toe for a "magical" seamless finish! This class is for confident knitters. 

Date: Saturdays, Feb. 2, 9 and 16, at 10:30 - 12 noon 

Cost: $60 + GST

No DPN’s needed here! You will be knitting socks with a long circular needle using the magic loop method.  Both socks are knit simultaneously. You should be an experienced knitter to join this class.

Date: Tuesdays, Feb. 12, 19 and 26, at 6:30 - 8 p.m.

Cost: $60 + GST

Do you find Lace knitting intimidating? Take this class with Debbie and learn to make knitted lace. The project is the beautiful "Nurmilintu" by Heidi Alender. You will learn directional increases and decreases to create a masterpiece. You should be a confident knitter to take this class. 

Date: Wednesdays, Feb. 13, 20, 27 and Mar. 6, at 6 - 7:30 pm

Cost: $80 + GST

This class will teach you the basics of crochet. Along with learning the stitches, you will also learn how yarn responds differently to crochet than it does to knitting. This is also a great “refresher” course if you have crocheted in the past and want to pick it up again.

Date: Thursdays, Mar. 7, 14, and 21, at 10:30 - 12 noon

Cost: $65 + GST

In this class you will learn to knit a very basic mitten.  You will learn to knit in the round on double pointed needles and do increases for the thumb gusset. Pattern is from tincanknits.

Date: Wednesdays,  Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and 13, at 10:30 - 12 noon

Cost: $60.00 + GST
